Activities include the efficient operation and profitability of operational systems and programs.Your responsibilities will includeLead a multi country, multi language team across the region (biggest team in Mexico). This includes ensuring proper talent in the roles, their development, objective setting, and career planning;Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close procedures and ensure the timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of information used to prepare internal and external financial reporting;Oversee the LAR North team to ensure standardization of processes and timely and accurate month- and year-end closings of accounting transactions in compliance with US GAAP and local IFRS standards across the region;Guarantee that all local affiliates are complying with local statutory requirements;Work with the Corporate team to make sure that all the corporate policies are correctly applied in the region;Work closely with FP&A team on reporting efforts related to senior leadership presentations, budgeting, monthly forecasting, and reporting of actuals;Partner with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of audits;Work very closely with the Tax team to make sure that accounting and tax information is correct in both domains (accounting and tax) and the base information is the same;Foster a culture of strong financial discipline and business integrity. Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement. Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to successful completion;Be the key leader in our region to improve the internal controls’ environment.Minimum requirementsAccounting and/or Finance college degree;Chartered/Certified Accountant designation required;Demonstrated knowledge of IFRS, current accounting trends, and developments;Experience with US GAAP accounting standards and SOX compliance;Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese would be an advantage.Preferred skills and experiences7+ years of combined experience of Big 4 and industry, minimum 3 years in a Financial Controller roleExperience in Big4 Audit firm;Experience in US origin company;Experience in company located in Mexico with large operations;Experience in company in Mexico with heavy exports to US using the Maquila structure;Proven success in managing large teams and leading through change;Proven track record of developing high-performing accounting teams;Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster a sense of community with stakeholders;Experience driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems.What we offer
