Successful & well-established major manufacturer, supplier and service of Medical Equipment to UK NHS & Private Hospitals, Ambulance Services, voluntary and many other environments nationwide.As a result of a restructure, we are now recruiting for a Buyer who wants to secure their career with a growing company.This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leader in the medical equipment manufacturing and service industry with long term career prospects and become a valued member of the team!As our Buyer you will assume responsibility for:
  • Purchasing goods, materials, components or services, in accordance with specified technical, quality and delivery requirements
  • Researching potential suppliers and verify key suppliers
  • Negotiating contracts, to improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
  • Making business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
  • Preparing purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers
  • and place orders as required.
  • Coordinate with stores to ensure proper and effective stock control.
  • Interface with other departments, stakeholders and Suppliers for all matters related to the procurement of materials, equipment and sub-contract services.
In order to be successful in this role you must have / be:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience purchasing Materials & Components in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience in using Sage or a similar system, with knowledge of Manufacturing Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills/abilities.
  • Experience of Quality Systems.
  • Monitor and Forecast Stock levels
