- Provide safe, reliable, courteous, and efficient transportation service for the residents to and from various human service locations, work sites, educational institutions, medical facilities, grocery stores, drug stores, and others.
- Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, utilizing the wheelchair lift/stairs as needed; opening, and closing doors, and loading/unloading walkers and wheelchairs, as needed.
- Ensure resident safety and satisfaction are priorities, and account for the presence of all residents when leaving or returning to the community.
- Prepare the van/bus for operation and coordinate necessary vehicle maintenance.
- May be responsible for ensuring all vehicle license plates, inspection tags, and insurance cards are current and displayed properly per local and state policy.
- Follow and understand the rules of the road and transportation safety procedures.
- Maintain current driving license per state regulations to perform transportation services.
- Assist in the resident programs as needed with resident activities and special events set-up.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the operation of large vehicles; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- A valid state driver's license (or a CDL license if applicable per state or local regulations).
- Clean driving record.
- A minimum of one year of driving in transportation services is preferred, ideally in the retirement industry (IL, AL, or MC), or medical field, with a proven track record of focus on customer service.
