ABC Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide specialized support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).About the Role
-As a Teaching Assistant, you will be crucial in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students with autism can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
-Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to adapt learning materials and activities to accommodate the unique learning styles and sensory needs of students with Special Educational Needs.
-Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students in developing social skills, communication skills, and emotional regulation.
-Assist with personal care tasks and support students in developing independence and self-help skills as appropriate.About the School

  • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
  • Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
