We are currently looking for a highly motivated lawyer to join our rapidly growing in-house Legal Team. This role will be based in South Africa (Cape Town) and will support our European based team on all legal matters.   • Draft, review and negotiate corporate documentation, client service agreements and NDAs;
  • Assist and advise our operational teams and business leaders on all issues relating to fund servicing matters;
  • Advise on data protection issues in the context of client and vendor service contracts;
  • Assist in group wide integration projects;
  • Help maintain and develop our library of template client service agreements in accordance with industry best practice;
  • Provide day to day legal advice across all Group business lines to best meet their business needs, maintaining good working relationships through active communication, facilitation and teamwork.
Skills Required
  • A solicitor qualified in South Africa or another common law jurisdiction;
  • At least 3-5 years of experience within fund services or the wider financial services industry (in-house or private practice). Candidates with less experience will be considered on an exceptional basis;
  • Be comfortable/competent in dealing with general service contracts;
  • Be highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to work semi-supervised supporting a fast-paced dynamic business;
  • Possess team spirit and enthusiasm with the capacity to build strong client relationships, taking the initiative to act.
