We are currently looking for a highly motivated lawyer to join our rapidly growing in-house Legal Team. This role will be based in South Africa (Cape Town) and will support our European based team on all legal matters. Draft, review and negotiate corporate documentation, client service agreements and NDAs;
Assist and advise our operational teams and business leaders on all issues relating to fund servicing matters;
Advise on data protection issues in the context of client and vendor service contracts;
Assist in group wide integration projects;
Help maintain and develop our library of template client service agreements in accordance with industry best practice;
Provide day to day legal advice across all Group business lines to best meet their business needs, maintaining good working relationships through active communication, facilitation and teamwork.

Skills Required

A solicitor qualified in South Africa or another common law jurisdiction;
At least 3-5 years of experience within fund services or the wider financial services industry (in-house or private practice). Candidates with less experience will be considered on an exceptional basis;
Be comfortable/competent in dealing with general service contracts;
Be highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to work semi-supervised supporting a fast-paced dynamic business;
Possess team spirit and enthusiasm with the capacity to build strong client relationships, taking the initiative to act.
