- Assess, diagnose and treat the full range of communication and swallowing disorders.
- Complete client reports, educate client/family, provide counseling and consultation, and present lectures.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, risk management and research, and provide orientation to new team members and Speech-Language Pathology students.
- Current full registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia.
- Broad knowledge of evidence based practice.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Broad knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Basic knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related computer equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to determine and deal effectively with urgent situations, clients/families/residents.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
