An apprenticeship with us will allow you to gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience for a career in your chosen field.About the roleKings Engineering has exiting opportunities for our next intake of Apprentices, commencing in December 2024 for our 2025 Apprenticeship Program.If successful in gaining one of these sought after opportunities, you will embark on a structured training program with potential for site placements across the Bloomfield Group and can expect to work in a caring environment where your learning is guided by experienced tradespersons, supervisors, and managers.As an Apprentice Plant Mechanic / Fitter, you will learn how to:
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and be a champion of safety
  • Overhaul and repair a wide range of mobile plant equipment from various industries including, but not limited to, roadheaders, dozers, graders, drills, waters carts, haul trucks, shuttle cars, rail wagons, etc
  • Correctly and safely operate high risk workshop machines such as overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Inspect and diagnose issues
Essential Criteria
  • Access to your own reliable transport to and from site
  • Possess strong mathematical aptitude with a minimum of Year 10 completion prior to commencement of Apprentice Program
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for your chosen trade
  • Take pride in the quality of your work
  • Be able to work independently, as well as contribute to a team
  • Be reliable for full-time working hours Monday to Friday and some weekends
  • Be committed to completing and passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a physically demanding environment
