Duties and responsibilities
  • , Management Information and reporting needs of the Firm.
  • To obtain a good understanding of Firm’s databases.
  • Provides technical and functional development of reporting solutions and data analysis using:
  • Microsoft SQL programming
  • SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Advanced Excel
  • Power BI
  • To develop standard reports and functional dashboards based on the Firms requirements.
  • Experience connecting to various Data Sources including text, excel and SQL Databases.
  • To develop business intelligence models that can be used to generate both standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensures BI environment is optimized to address business requirements by diagnosing and repairing user and performance issues, and testing, monitoring and tuning software.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of information.
  • Provides overall guidance for data quality.
  • Identify and resolve data reporting issues in a timely fashion.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on new or enhanced reports.
  • Recommend improvements to provide optimum reporting solutions.
  • Work closely with the Finance team.
  • Communicate with the Financial Modeller with efficiency and accuracy on any issues, progress and /or delays.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into reporting solutions.

Qualification/s
  • Matric/National diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience with requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, BI report development, testing, training, change management, and support methodologies.
  • A minimum of three years SQL Programming and Advanced Excel experience.
  • A strong financial background with experience having worked on financial systems.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies.
  • Experience delivering and/or authoring technical training.
