You will contribute to the health improvement of the population by supporting and signposting people to local organisations and services. Strong partnership working skills will be required to ensure LLBD is embedded in the local community & will involve attending community/workplace events and engagement work.An excellent level of IT literacy including proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and 365, along with the ability to adapt to bespoke databases is a key requirement of this role. It is also essential that the successful candidates have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. Awareness of barriers that may prevent a client accessing essential support or making a lifestyle change is key.A key focus of all positions is to contribute to CVD (blood pressure) case finding project, which encourages people aged over 40 to get a free blood pressure check. You would help set up and deliver blood pressure testing events at various settings, such as: workplaces, community events, libraries, leisure centres and community hubs.NHS Health ChecksPositions one and two will focus on delivering health checks in community and workplace settings and will include the following: blood pressure testing, height, weight, and waist measurements, point of care testing (cholesterol & glucose), plus lifestyle questions around smoking, alcohol, physical activity & emotional wellbeing. You will then discuss relevant support available & signpost into a range of internal and external services.The successful candidate will be provided with full health checks training which includes the completion of a health checks portfolio and assessment.
