School website:SummaryGrade 7, Term time + 5 days, 37 hours a week, £29,777 - £33,945 (pro rata)The headteacher and governors of St. Wilfrid's CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated School Business Support Officer to efficiently undertake and manage all aspects of the school office administration and finance in our busy school office, and also to take on line manager responsibilities for our Office Administrator, welfare and catering teams. As one of the first people that visitors meet at our school, you will need to possess a friendly, approachable manner and the ability to maintain a positive attitude.The work is varied including:
  • Managing pupil and parent administration, including platforms such as the parent communications app (PA Connect) and the online payment system (ParentPay)
  • Maintaining accurate records within the School Information Management System (SIMS)
  • Administering human resources in line with Lancashire County Council procedures
  • Maintaining the Single Central Register of pre-employment checks in line with Lancashire County Council procedures
  • Financial transactions using FMS6, including collecting, recording, and balancing funds for school dinners, music lessons and trips, adhering to financial procedures
  • Financial reporting
  • Covering reception duties, including answering telephone and in-person enquiries and visitor sign-ins
At St. Wilfrid's, we pride ourselves on reflecting God's love in all we do. St Wilfrid's is located approximately 2 miles north of Lancaster in the picturesque village of Halton. We have eight classes and 237 children, aged 4 to 11, on roll.The post is for 37 hours per week, term-time only plus five days (paid pro-rata). You will be required 5 days per week from 8.30am until 4pm daily (times negotiable). You will also require excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Excel) and be able to work to deadlines, use your own initiative, work under pressure and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.If you have experience of working in a busy office environment, enjoy a challenge, are hard-working and quick to learn, then this could be just the position for you.
