- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior nursing staff.
- Mentor and train junior nurses, assisting in their professional development.
- Assess and prioritise patient care needs, ensuring high-quality and individualised care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff, providing expertise in clinical procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits, data collection, and performance improvement projects.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, advocating for patient needs and preferences.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Collaborate with community resources and support services to facilitate continuity of care for patients.
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN), accompanied by immediate paediatric life support certification.
- Previous experience in Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and managing complex care needs is essential.
- Familiarity with caring for tracheostomized patients is advantageous.
- Proficient understanding of Safeguarding issues is required.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and mentoring others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical governance principles and experience in conducting audits.
- Experience in supervising and evaluating students, as well as the ability to lead shifts, is preferred.
