The most challenging aspects of this role will be ensuring the effective management of a residential team working in an acute environment where resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to maintain team wellbeing is essential.We are looking to hire someone who is dedicated to supporting those with acute Mental Health needs and will deliver a compassionate and caring service to our workforce and service users.This position is offered a FT at 37.5 hours per week with an expected salary of 36,000 to 45,000 per annum.RequirementsYou will need Level 3 but will work towards Level 5 in Health and Social Care and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a care leadership role in a CQC registered residential service. You will want to progress you leadership skills and be always willing to learn more and apply your development to your career progression.The main tasks of this role include:· To monitor and maintain the effective running of the home ensuring all legislations and regulations concerning the Health and Social Care Act, environmental health, infection control, building control, planning, fire checks and Health & Safety are met, and all risk assessments are regularly carried out to meet the high standard expected in our Residential services.· To register with our regulatory body, CQC and will be legally responsible and accountable for compliance with the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations, including the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission. To take the lead with inspections of the service with aim of establishing an effective rating.· To work collaboratively with the Clinical Team ensuring effective and robust relationships are built and maintained.· To take a lead role with regards to the Safeguarding of the service. To ensure that the safeguarding databases and records are maintained accurately and as per company policy.· To oversee and empower the staff to effectively support the Young people, ensuring their physical, social, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs are met.· To empower the staff team to manage incidents effectively and safely, offering guidance and debriefs post incident.· To empower and enable the staff team to ensure the young people’s attendance to SCM groups, CNS sessions, therapy, and MDT’s/CPA’s.· To oversee the induction of new and potential young people for the home, including providing relevant information and guided tours, appropriate records and paperwork and ensure adequate arrangements are made for every new young person.· Ensure that all staff have a good understanding of new young people and attendance at case presentations.
  • Alongside the clinical team, review the assessments of all young people identified as accepted by care in mind. To complete the impact risk assessments for your home and attend referral meeting discussions with all stakeholders.
  • To ensure the staff team are liaising effectively with the relevant GP’s, CCG, Community Mental Health Services, CIM clinical team with regards to the welfare of the individual young person.
  • Ensure that the clinical team maintain the young people’s Risk Management plans and Risk Assessments, recording any changes to presentation in a timely manner.
  • To ensure the Care in Mind model is truly embedded into the home, working alongside the Clinical team.
  • Co-facilitating of monthly Reflective Practice sessions for the staff team as well as monthly MDT Reflection Meetings. To ensure that the staff team attend reflective practice and staff support on a regular basis and the staff rota reflects the planning of these groups.
  • Ensure that all the medication needs of the young people are met, Medication Management Plans are completed accurately, are understood by all staff, and adhered to.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that all staff are medication competent.
  • Ensure that prescribed medication is ordered in a timely manner and regular stock checks are completed in order to support effective stock management of all medications.
· To oversee the successful implementation and review of the ‘My Care Plan’ and that staff are utilising the ‘MY MDT’ format to highlight discussions that are required within MDT’s. Ensure competency and understanding of all staff in implementing care plans that are collaborative and have the young person at the centre of their care.
  • To take full responsibility for the competence and capability of the residential team, managing performance effectively.
  • Understand and know the residential teams’ strengths and weaknesses, offering support and guidance when necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with all staff.
  • Always lead by example, be honest and transparent when things are not going well and when things go well, sharing good practice.
  • Lead the workforce and ensure well led learning and development practices.
