WRC, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Engineer / Scientist - Flow and metering to work in their Swindon Head Office on a full time, permanent basis.You will play a central role in the technical delivery of a wide variety of projects centered around the applications of metering technologies in the water sector including smart metering and regulatory compliance. It is a highly varied role with projects covering practical testing and evaluation, research and strategic consultancy.At WRc, we are committed to making a positive impact in the waste, water and environmental sectors.   • Developing and directing research projects relating to flow and metering
  • Leading testing and evaluation programmes for new technologies
  • Supporting our growing meter testing capability
  • Communicating with clients to understand their needs and translate these into work proposals
  • Providing technical leadership across a portfolio of projects
  • Providing specialist technical input into wider consultancy projects
Qualifications / Experience:Essential:
  • Degree in a STEM discipline, preferably in engineering or applied physics
  • Some knowledge of flow measurement techniques and/or flow theory
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Word
Desirable:
  • Experience with smart meters / AMR / AMI technology
  • Experience in a water company, regulator or meter manufacturer / supplier
