EstimatorJob Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with Joinery/ Fabrication projects, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of joinery processes, and excellent attention to detail.Responsibilities:
  • Analyse joinery/Sheet metal project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to determine the scope of work.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and any additional costs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Evaluate project risks and factors that may impact costs, such as design changes, material availability, or site conditions.
  • Review and interpret architectural plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, taking into account different joinery techniques, finishes, and installation requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate pricing proposals to the sales team and customers, ensuring competitiveness in the market.
  • Collaborate with project managers and designers to optimise joinery designs for cost-effective production.
  • Keep abreast of industry pricing trends, material costs, and market conditions to maintain accurate and up-to-date estimating data.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in material estimating within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery or point-of-sale materials, techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel, with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to accurately analyse project requirements and cost components.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to joinery.
