- Ensuring the EW system/station maintainability.
- The Thales EW Field Support Engineer (FSE) is the technical and technico-operational adviser for the End-User.
- Carryout the services for the End-User as long as directly related to the proper operation of the System, which shall be deemed to include the following:
- Assist in any preventive or corrective maintenance of the Equipment and providing technical advice and assistance on the maintenance of the Equipment;
- Assist in the OLM (Operational) and ILM (Intermediate) of the System as directed by the End-User;
- Assist in recording repetitive technical occurrences and liaising with back office and/or the relevant OEM to find preventative solutions;
- Assist in checking the shortcomings in the Technical Publications and participating with the authorities concerned in any requests for corrections;
- Assist in resolving queries and technical problems with the Equipment and giving assistance and advice to the End-user's staff to help solve any problems arising from day to day operation of the System;
- Exchange operation & maintenance Know-how with the End-user and the End-user's personnel relating to the Equipment;
- • Provide onsite coaching to operators and technicians (repeated briefing to refresh operators/maintainers knowledge);
- Performing investigations after any accident involving the Equipment;
- Assist the End-user in any System related tasks requested by the End-User;
- Write a periodic technical activity report and submit it to the End-User by the PM;
- Participate in technical meetings scheduled with the End-User and or with Thales.
- Minor Software changes or update to the system according to the End-User request and approved by Thales.
- The EW FSR will report to the Project Manager.
- Significant experience of working with EW sensor equipment of similar technology.
- Highly experienced in Ground or Naval station equipment
- Significant Network / IT experience
- Strong technical background.
- Former military EW technician is a must
- EW system maintenance certification
- Ability to work at height (mast)
- Language: English mandatory, Arabic and French are a must
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of investigating issues in complex systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, as part of the larger support and engineering teams.
- Experience in the use of standard test equipment.
- Knowledge of Installation and Testing of large Electronic Warfare systems.
- Understanding / knowledge of IVVQ processes
- Understanding / knowledge of health and safety aspects of working on or around heavy machinery.
- Driving License mandatory.
