Overview:We are seeking a Naval Architect to support our Washington, DC office. Candidate will analyze ship hulls and superstructures, lead multidisciplinary teams in prototype development, and evaluate vessel performance during trials. Responsibilities include ensuring designs meet national and international standards for Navy shipbuilding programs. Responsibilities:Provide analysis on ship hulls and superstructures, study design products and specifications to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as size, weight, and speed, lead teams from a variety of specialties to oversee building and testing prototypes, evaluate how ships perform during trials, both at dock and at sea, and change designs as needed to make sure national and international standards are met. Qualifications:Required skills:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.10 years - 15 years of professional experience in Naval ArchitectureMust have active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain onePreferred skills:Master's degree in naval architecture or marine engineeringProfessional Engineer License15 or more years in Naval ArchitectureDoD/DoN procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process).Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $85,000-$150,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.This position is contingent upon contract award
