Our client is a well-established engineering company based in St Leonards on Sea who specialise in making connectors, contacts, accessories, wires and subsea power cables for use in the harshest environments. A vacancy has arisen for an experience Quality and Reliability Engineering Manager to join their hardworking and dedicated team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within Quality Assurance and Control, previous experience in Management, possess experience and knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and a working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, SSGB or SSBB.As a Quality and Reliability Engineering Manager, you will be leading and managing a team of 10 Quality Engineers as well as managing and supporting an inspection team of 6. You will be responsible for ensuring that site adheres to all regulatory standards for quality as well as driving quality improvements across all of the company’s production areas.The Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
  • Demonstrable experience in Quality Assurance and Control as well as Management
  • Experience within the Aerospace industry
  • Demonstrated experience in driving change using LEAN concepts
  • Possess a working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, SSGB or SSBB
  • Proven experience of driving change across multiple functions
Your duties as a Quality and Reliability Engineering Manager would be:
  • Plant quality management for an Aerospace, Defence and Marine Connectors site
  • Supporting and enhancing the quality management system requirements of AS9100
  • Using lean management and process management to build on the quality system
  • Driving a culture of learning, continuous improvement and best practices to improve the effectiveness of the organisation
  • Ensuring the appropriate quality processes are in place and are effective to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements
  • Driving improvements in quality performance to enhance the customer experience and to reduce the cost of poor quality
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the site quality system and product quality while ensuring compliance to governing regulations and corporate policies and procedures
  • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with M.E; setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures, monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
  • Ensuring appropriate leading KPIs are in place and are reacted to in a timely manner
  • Own leadership and guidance of site Quality teams on matters such as compliance and industry best practices
  • Leading the development of a strong customer-focused culture throughout the organisation
Salary:£45,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experienceHours:Full Time, PermanentLocation:St Leonards on Sea, East SussexStart Date:ASAP
