- Collect, clean, integrate and process institutional data from various departments or systems;
- Oversee daily maintenance of Institutional Research data repositories, ensuring data input and metadata compliance with established standards and protocols;
- Collaborate with other university departments to gather needs, consolidate consensus, and implement data standards and best practices;
- Support data quality control efforts across different sections and over time.
- Prepare, analyze, and submit data and information to government agencies, accreditation bodies, and other external agencies, as well as for Institutional Research data products and publications;
- Respond to requests for data and reports from internal audiences as needed;
- Develop appropriate data responses by navigating the requirements and operations of both Chinese and American higher education systems.
- Assist in developing data models to meet reporting and analytical needs, and contribute to establishing automated data modeling processes to improve efficiency;
- Conduct quantitative analysis, either through consultation or self-initiation, to generate insights relevant to various institutional needs. Present analytical results in diverse reports, and identify opportunities for improvement based on analytics results.
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in quantitative related disciplines, such as (but not limited to) statistics, social sciences, economics, finance, ecology, etc.
- Solid statistics or quantitative abilities in research or working; skilled in using analytical tools (i.e. SPSS, SAS, R), data process tools (e.g. Tableau Prep), visualization tools (i.e. Tableau), and programing skills (i.e. SQL or Python) for database manipulation preferred.
- Strong logical and analytical thinking;
- Knowledge of survey instruments, protocols, and procedures;
- Capable of multitask upon deadlines;
- Highly organized, and rigorous attention to detail;
- Quick learner;
- Good spoken and written English skills, and academic writing skills;
- Understanding of Chinese and international higher education contexts.
