
Mental Injury Claims Case Manager

- Oversee and manage workers' compensation claims related to mental or psychological injuries, including stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Collaborate with medical professionals to assess the severity and nature of the mental injury, ensuring that the claim meets workers' compensation eligibility requirements.
- Work with healthcare providers to ensure that employees receive appropriate mental health care and treatment, including therapy, counseling, and psychiatric services.
- Review and assess medical documentation, treatment plans, and progress reports to determine the appropriate course of action for claims approval and continued support.
- Serve as the main point of contact for injured employees, their medical providers, and insurance carriers. Provide clear and timely communication on the status of the claim, benefits, and any necessary steps in the process.
- Act as an advocate for employees, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources, such as rehabilitation programs, support groups, and workplace accommodations, to facilitate their recovery and return to work.
- Ensure that all claims and case management activities comply with state and federal workers' compensation laws, as well as company policies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of each case, including medical records, treatment plans, and case notes.
- Address any disputes or issues that arise during the claims process, working closely with legal and claims departments to resolve concerns and ensure fair outcomes.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on case progress, outcomes, and any emerging trends in mental injury claims to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Experience as a Case Manager with the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme, ideally in Return to Work or Long-Term Case Management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
