Bally Sports South and Southeast is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to join team in Atlanta, GA. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this position is responsible for all engineering functions supporting live studio production, live broadcast events, pre and post production, and equipment maintenance. This position will provide complete professional engineering support for Bally Sports South.The Game Plan:
(What you will do)
- Responsible for all technical aspects of the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of studio production equipment, production editing systems, central equipment room and field ENG equipment.
- Provide engineering support for the production department, with coordination of remote production locations with the home studio. This includes assisting with equipment setup, testing, and maintenance of field equipment that supports remote truck productions and home studio-based productions.
- Coordinate new equipment training and develop new procedures for Production Operators.
- Manage transmission feed connections and testing for individual show feeds from sports venues, Live U, telecom fiber circuits, private line network, and internet streaming devices.
- Provide engineering support for Avid editing system with IBM archive LTO.
- Update software versions and follow company Broadcast Data Network directives for IT security.
- Support and maintain Broadcast Data Network Networking Equipment.
- Coordinate and perform broadcast equipment preventative and demand maintenance.
- Occasionally support Corp IT desktop PC's and telecom equipment in the facility.
- Consult with Regional Engineering staff regarding corrective actions unable to resolve independently.
(What to bring)
- 4+ years of experience in television engineering and operations.
- Familiarity with AVID editing software or other MAM systems.
- Knowledge in all areas of technical production and familiarity with all production equipment
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and weekend shifts, as well as the availability to respond to emergencies and urgent issues via phone calls or text messages during all times of on-air productions.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, a plus
- Experience/knowledge of digital and social platforms, a plus.
