Job Description:Your RoleThe Strategic Partnerships and Pilot Programs unit seeks a Market Researcher, Principal to join the Design Studio, a user experience focused team central to piloting innovative member-centered solutions to improve health outcomes for Blue Shield of California members and their communities. The researcher in this role will report to the Senior Manager of Market Research in the Design Studio. In this role you will leverage user-centric mixed methods to guide pilot and partnership development, implementation, and measurement. You will use qualitative and quantitative methods throughout your work. You will work collaboratively with researchers, designers, and program managers to center user needs, motivations, and behaviors in pilot design and implementation improve member experiences and health outcomes.This position requires strong research skills, including the ability to design, implement, and analyze end to end quantitative and qualitative studies, in addition to collaborative stakeholder management in the pilot and partnership space. This requires identifying optimal fit between member and business needs with potential partners and interventions and successfully designing pilots with measurable, quantifiable outcomes.Your WorkIn this role, you will:
  • Evaluate user interactions and apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis to identify opportunities to improve member experience
  • Manage all phases of mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) research design, execution, and analysis; Develop research plans, generate hypotheses, engage research participants, collect and analyze data, and generate insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate across all levels of the organization to define business and research objectives
  • Collaborate, influence, and communicate across technical and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization to effectively influence pilot and product design from a user-centered approach
  • Address complex research questions where direct observation or contact with users is not available using secondary research, including literature review and landscape analyses
  • Conduct primary and secondary research and explore industry trends to better align ideas/products and enhance the consumer experience
  • Create impactful presentations
  • Work in a highly collaborative setting, ability to effectively influence and work with senior leaders
Qualifications:Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires end-to-end research management experience
  • Requires experience managing and extracting insights from both quantitative and qualitative research
  • Requires comfort leading in a highly collaborative setting, ability to effectively influence and work with stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Requires deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative user research methods and analysis, including statistical analysis using R, Python, SAS, or STATA
  • Required expertise in human-centered design
  • Preferred expertise in health, psychology, or behavioral economics
  • Preferred Masters' Degree or PhD with public health, statistics, or quantitative social science focus
Pay Range:The pay range for this role is: $ 145970.00 to $ 218900.00 for California.Note:Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade.
