Are you with us?!?This Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality guidance and technical support within the plant as well as to customers. Responsibilities will include ensuring product compliance as well as leading and participating in continuous improvement activities.Quality Engineer - Requirements
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Paper Science/Engineering is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience is preferred, as well as experience in silicone and/or polymer chemistry
  • Foundation in lean manufacturing/analytical problem solving, ISO and GFSI
  • Knowledge on Food Safety packaging standards
  • Basic knowledge of statistics - a six sigma green belt or black belt would be preferred
  • Ability to travel
  • Some weekend and holiday work, as necessary
Quality Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Actively promote and participate in safety
  • Assist in leading food packaging safety efforts within the plant
  • Ability to communicate customer requests pertaining to regulatory compliance
  • Lead and participate in improvement projects within the mill as well as with suppliers and customers
  • Lead and participate in problem solving activities - root cause analysis
  • Provide technical support/service within the plant as well as to customers and sales/marketing personnel
  • Provide technical support on development of new products within product development
  • Perform data analysis
