Role: Data Analyst - Fuel PricingLocation: Blackburn, BB1 2FAContract: Full Time / PermanentSalary: £35,000- £40,000 Dependant on experience & Bonus schemeCompany: EG GroupAbout the role…Our Fuel Pricing team are recruiting for an experienced data analyst who will take on the responsibility for overseeing our data system and reporting frameworks guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data.The ideal candidate will transform raw data into structured information, which will then be analysed to gain insights that drive strategic business decisions. This position encompasses a comprehensive analysis lifecycle, covering requirement gathering, activity execution, and design planning.You will work closely with other data analysts within the team to build reports and dashboards and presenting your finding to senior management team to make informed business decisions.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems.
  • Maximising business potential by converting large amounts of data into valuable insight.
  • Detect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets.
  • Provide support to senior management through regular summaries and performance updates.
  • Analyse market elasticities and gain an understanding of consumer behaviour.
  • Design and update a variety of optimisation and predictive models.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards, charts, reports, and visual aids to support decision-making.
  • Convey insights through both reports and visual presentations.
  • Undertake pricing reviews with site, area, and regional managers, using analysis and local knowledge to improve the sites performance.
  • Use analytic techniques to test ideas or check the effect of individual factors, either at a single site or for the estate overall.
  • Flexibility with role duties and assist with other ad hoc tasks as required by management.
Candidate Requirements
  • Educated to a degree level in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent.
  • The ideal candidate must have 2+ years' experience with Power BI, SQL & Advanced Excel.
  • Python and R are advantageous to the role.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively to a deadline, alone or as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate superior communication and presentation capabilities, adept at simplifying complex data insights for audiences without a technical background.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at report writing and presenting findings.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A good understanding of the industry and business operations is a plus.
