Ecommerce Operations Manager - GautengFull job descriptionA small, $1m+ ecommerce business is looking for a resourceful, self motivated, and highly organized ecommerce head of operations. The ideal candidate has built processes, systems and teams that achieved the perfect mix of quality and efficiency in an e-commerce brand.No job is too big or too small. The ideal candidate envisions where the business can go and coordinates resources, team mates, and technology to get it there.Note: The business is US-based however the owner and core team work in the European Time Zone and ideally you’ll be available between the hours of roughly 10am to 3pm European Standard Time at the least.Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with Role)StrategyWith the CEO, develop the strategic plan of where the business is going and how to grow on a tight budget.Analyze each channel for potential and efficiency and make recommendations for growth and cost savings.Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Management Meetings to create strategic goals, assign ownership and review progress.AmazonCheck Amazon regularly for conversions and any account issues. (Amazon Manager is in account every day but login once or twice as a double check.Bi-monthly Amazon meeting; review the Amazon accounts for conversion improvement, review the stocks. Evaluate new amazon features and tools. Monitor what competitors and the industry is doing and what could work for us.ShopifyWatch Shopify daily to ensure Traffic, Sales, AOV, Conversions are growing. Test landing pages, headers, texts, banners, imagery, layout. Monitor what competitors and the industry is doing and what could work for us. New imagery ideas; educational pieces; apps and toolsProject manage the creation of new product listings, sourcing imagery, copy, headlines, bullet points etcFinanceAlways know the monthly break even and our progression to it, motivating staff to reach their goals; making pivots where needed to ensure we turn a profit.Review mid-month and end-of-month income statements line by line questioning every charge: staff, expenses, costs, COGS, amazon fees, refund rate, success of affiliate traffic and wholesale etcKnow the upcoming business expenses, project budgets with the CFO.Vigilantly watch revenue so operations can be increased or decreased as needed. Watch revenue and cash flow making decisions for sales, promotions, price changes, etcWhen we are running a profit for the month- open the convo of where to INVEST IT - SEO, Amazon, more paid ad, a photoshoot, a new product? buying more wholesale leads, an affiliate managerFind ways to grow every line of income stream.Be accountable for the operational budget, every contractor's hours; paid ad spend, subscriptions, production orders, fulfillment centers, supply chain, etcSet the marketing budget. Paid Ad spend per channel monitoring for ROAS, CPA. Monitor amount of giveaways; cross promotions; sponsorships.Monitor the COGS and profit margins. Adjust them for any changes in production, fulfillment, processing fees, etc.Monitor product performance and quality.Monitor the market for competitors and holes in the market that we can fill.InventoryMonthly review of the Inventory to decide Last Chance Items, liquidations, promotions, and plan production orders.Supply ChainOversee the sourcing and testing of new products - ideally consumables (subscribe and save type items) or something that is unique, patentableHROwn the Org Chart of the company. Delegations, reporting, communications. Ensure all position descriptions are up to date with as many SOPs as possible.Review all of the team's SOPs, automate as much as possible, systemize everything with written SOPs, outsource to the lowest cost labor as possible, and monitor adherence to procedures and team accountability.Always being thinking: What can be automated; what can be delegated to admin teammates; what can be systemized so it's replicable and clear to prevent errors and delaysCoordinate the work of various departments including product development, production, logistics, sales, marketing, and customer experience.Ensure effective team-oriented communication and collaboration.GeneralOffload tactical work from the CEO, help create process, structure, and routine.Coordinate and monitor the work of departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing, and distribution of goods. Ensure quality of products.Handle mission-critical operations such as taxes, insurance, trademarks, and copyright, government compliance, etc.Troubleshoot any issues that arise for the business. Take on new projects, delegate, support success.insurance, trademarks, consult on taxes, legal, etc, manage account access, onboard/offboard staffResults (Expected Accomplishments)Business grows profitably.Team members work efficiently and effectively in a motivated, supportive work environment.All business functions, systems, and processes operate efficiently and effectively.Mission-critical operations are effectively managed.Requirements (Expected Proficiencies)Previous experience in managing the operations of a Shopify and Amazon-based e-commerce business with a fully virtual/remote team.Proficiency in managing Shopify and Amazon Seller Central.Experience in developing budgets, business plans, and digital marketing strategies.Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, think critically, make decisions, and solve problems.Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.Job Type: Full-timePay: From R475,00 per hourExpected hours: 30 – 40 per weekApplication Question(s):Please describe your experience in e-commerce and digital marketing.Experience:Shopify and Amazon: 1 year (Required)Amazon: 1 year (Required)Language:English (Required)
