Job DescriptionThe job in a nutshellAs a Refit Product Manager you'll be part of our centrally based Product & Proposition team, responsible for scoping, implementing, monitoring, evolving and optimising our hotel and bar cafe refit proposition and programme.Alongside, you will be responsible for evolving and developing new customer products for the refit programme aligned to Travelodge's strategic objectives that; are ground in customer insight, ensure the long-term sustainability of the brand, are commercially and operationally viable and drive commercial performance.You will lead or support the development, delivery and implementation of these projects through the management of cross-functional teams and timely engagement and approval of multiple stakeholders (external and internal). You will also be responsible for post-project performance, analysis and future recommendations.You'll help develop and sustain a culture of innovation and change within a fast paced and dynamic environment, challenging the status quo, identifying new opportunities, contributing to the Product Team agenda and planning process and delivering the best experience for the Travelodge guest.What you'll be doing
  • Strategic and tactical projects: supporting the Head of Product on the planning and executing of the strategic refit programme as well as leading tactical refit related projects within the existing and future estate (including Spain).
  • Commercial performance: monitor commercial KPIs, identify and implement recommendations to maximise the commercial performance of the refit programme; revenue growth (F&B and hotel RevPAR) and profitability (reduce cost to deliver and/or operate). Work with relevant stakeholders to successfully execute recommendations.
  • Customer performance: monitor customer KPIs, identify and implement recommendations to positively and continuously improve our customer metrics. Work with relevant stakeholders to successfully execute recommendations.
  • Insight:track and report consumer trends and customer and competitor insights, to thoroughly understand and champion the product from a Customer perspective, identifying risks and opportunities to current/proposed Travelodge refit product proposition
  • Product management and development: support the Head of Product with scoping, review, validation, development and delivery of the refit programme. Ensure they are commercially and operationally viable, in line with or enhance customer requirements, are comparable or not competitively disadvantaged, can be consistently delivered and fit with the brand's proposition - Delivering Affordable Travel for Everyone.
  • Project management: own, manage and communicate product project plans, ensuring stakeholder engagement, alignment and execution. Project management will include presenting and updating to senior stakeholders.
  • Relationship management: build strong internal stakeholder relationships within Travelodge and with external suppliers and agencies to deliver the desired vision and objectives.
  • Finance and budget management: Work with Finance to evaluate commercial benefit of new and existing proposition developments. Manage cost and value-engineering, balancing productivity and customer defection/reputation to achieve the best solutions. Manage the budget effectively and ensure value for money is achieved.
  • Measurement: Identify, measure and deliver against KPIs for each product or proposition project. Contributing to the completion and analysis of scorecards, board level papers and external reporting
  • Brand guardianship: for hotel environment design, layout and style, liaising with the Property team and relevant agencies on hotel refurbishment and pipeline footprints, providing brand governance to maintain physical product consistency.

  • Relevant product management experience with a good understanding of reviewing and improving product areas
  • Strong project management expertise and organisational skills, working to critical paths and deadlines across a broad spectrum of activity and multiple projects
  • The ability to lead, engage and motivate cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with other areas of business
  • Strong customer focus and commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer needs and commercial sense
  • The ability to innovate, be proactive and act as a highly motivated self-starter with a can do approach in a rapid results driven environment
  • Attention to detail and passionate about the brand
Desirable
  • Experience in developing and delivering refit programmes in F&B environments (eg restaurants and bars)
  • Product proposition development and delivery experience in a budget market
  • Understanding of F&B operations
