- Careful review of new inquiries or requests for tender by actively checking drawings, specifications, and product requirement as well as commercial terms and documentation requirements.
- Preparation of tender approval document after review of pricing and past history of respective market with the Area or Regional Sales Manager. Obtain the necessary approvals.
- Co-ordinate input from other departments such as technical, production or logistics to enable preparation and submission of timely, clear and accurate technical and commercial offers.
- Organize requests for quotations from sub-contractors and analyze technical and commercial responses.
- Follow up and co-ordinate post offer technical and commercial queries or clarifications from customers and respond in a timely manner.
- Post awards prepare technical submittals and obtain drawing approvals.
- Liaise with the customer and relevant departments for the provision of guarantees or establishment of letters of credit.
- Assist in sales order preparation and release on ERP system when necessary.
- Creation of design specification as per customer requirement for new products & coordinating with contracts department for the updates.
- Take full responsibility for handling certain agreed customer inquiries.
- Provide office-based support to Area and Regional Sales Managers when they are visiting customers.
- Attending Exhibitions and Sales Promotions in the region on behalf of the Company as required.
- Provide information to other departments for budget, forecast and management reports.
- Timely submission of offer (Including review of enquiries, preparation of tender, coordination within departments and request quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors).
- To attend post, offer technical and commercial queries for customers in a timely manner.
- Post award technical submittal including drawing.
- Liaise with the customer and relevant departments for the provision of guarantees or establishment of letters of credit.
- Creation of design specification as per customer requirement for new products & coordinating with contracts department for the updates.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or similar discipline).
- At least three years proven experience in a similar role in the electrical switchgear industry.
- Experience in design and checking of general arrangement drawings. Understanding of single line diagrams and schematics.
- A sound understanding of standard commercial terms and conditions including Incoterms, documentary credits, bonds and guarantees.
- Experience or familiarity with major principles of project management and delivery.
- Must be customer focused with proven ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner.
- Must be an organized self-starter with a keen eye for detail.
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in English.
