Job descriptionThis role is for one of the biggest building services consultancies, they are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to join the Design and Advanced Technology (D&AT) Practice, to work on projects based principally in their Swansea office but with opportunities to work at their locations elsewhere in the UK and overseas.You will be part of a team delivering a broad range of water-based infrastructure projects involving: coastal, river, drainage, ports, coastal and reservoirs. You will have strong technical and task management skillsRequirements- Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.- Recently or nearly professionally qualified with the ICE or CIWEM.Essential Criteria:- Ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meeting project deadlines.- Enthusiasm and self-motivation to drive for continuous improvement and innovation.- Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.- Experience of working with key clients such as Local Authorities, Government agencies, and/or major Contractors.- Proficiency in relevant design standards.- Ability to prepare reports and collate specifications.- Experience in the conceptual and detailed design.- Experience of delivering technical work packages.- Good understanding of design procedures, risk assessments, change control, checking and review.- Computer literate and fully conversant with MS Office suite and familiarity with relevant engineering analysis software packages.Desirable Criteria:- Experience in the use of design software.- Broad interest in water related engineering disciplines e.g. flooding, drainage, ports and coastal.- Experience and familiarity of consenting requirements for the water or marine related schemes.- Interest in developing skills in digital engineering.
