About the role:Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to join the Maintenance Team at our longstanding Tasman Mill, Kawerau, Eastern Bay of Plenty. This is a challenging but exciting role that will see you play a key role in the team and make excellent use of your Bachelor of Engineering degree.Reporting to the Area Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for providing maintenance expertise and support to the assigned business unit so that the overall mill business objects are met. Ideally you will have at least 3-5 years Mechanical Engineering experience working in pulp and paper or a heavy manufacturing operation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure conformance to EHS&R standards, ensuring best practices and processes are in place.
  • Increase plant reliability through improved maintenance practices.
  • Scope and manage mechanical maintenance and plant modifications for completion by contractors.
  • Ensure the quality of mechanical maintenance execution is in line with asset strategy.
  • Develop mid/long term maintenance strategies for equipment used widely in the plant.
  • Take action to resolve maintenance issues from reoccurring, thus improving reliability.
You will bring to the role:
  • A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering preferably or similar relevant qualification and work experience within heavy industrial maintenance of static, rotating and pressure equipment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with excellent root cause analysis capability.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the business.
  • Practical and innovative, with good attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment.
