Director, Strategic Sourcing

• Develop relationships with key component suppliers from executive to working level to support WiTricity’s products.
• Manage supplier relations and supply agreement compliance while maintaining highest code of ethics and conduct.
• Oversee all processes from intent to purchase, new supplier on-boarding, performance, and supplier exit. Track supplier performance using dashboards for quality, delivery, service, and cost.
• Manage and keep track of product material cost. Identify ways to reduce cost by working with existing suppliers, identify alternative suppliers, or sourcing channels. Deliver aggressive cost reduction objectives.
• Continuously analyze market and delivery conditions to ensure present and future material availability.
• Drive and manage 3PL/logistics vendor to ensure high quality standard of warehouses & distribution. Procure the competitive rates with carriers for trades and coordinate with carriers for capacity issue.
• Work with Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering to develop product specifications and source new components.
• Identify and evaluate new/increased sources of supply to meet new product introduction and sustainability objectives.
• Perform supplier financial research, spend analysis and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals
• Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet WiTricity’s performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity.
• Collaborate across the WiTricity organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
• Optimize semiconductors performance through cost and capacity scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs and market intelligence and apply this knowledge to influence WiTricity’s future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
• Provide overall program management support and contribute to ongoing development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years global sourcing experiences in contract manufacturing, semiconductors, or plastics/metal material.
• Expertise in world class procurement operations include contract negotiation, relayed laws and regulations. Capable of driving change while maintaining positive internal relations.
• Supplier scorecard techniques that drive supplier management
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Track record of partnership/teambuilding with interdependent functions in Operations, Engineering, Quality, Styling and Finance.
• Strong communication in both Chinese and English, written and verbal.
• Self-directed and strong results-driven execution orientation.
• Willingness to be hands-on.
• Small company, global experience, and prior role with a US-based company a strong plus.
• Automotive industry experience is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel in Asia and internationally (30%-40%)
