Your Role on our Team: The Estimator is responsible for providing support on all costing, budgeting, tenders and contracts for all related construction projects (Low-Rise and Hi-Rise).In this role, you will:
  • Assists in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;
  • Facilitates cost control in design development budgets.
  • Prepares, monitors, and updates construction budgets.
  • Support in value engineering of new details, design and products.
  • Prepares and reviews construction cost estimates from initial design stage to final working drawings.
  • Prepares and manages tender packages which include scopes of work and tender documentation for the trades.
  • Prepares the tender analysis based on submitted tenders from the Trades.
  • Preparation of contract documents.
  • Research of new products and materials, for the purpose of cost saving, efficiencies and use of sustainable alternatives.
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
We would like you to have:
  • University Degree (Civil Engineering, Architectural or Engineering degree or related discipline) or a College Diploma (Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technologist or related discipline).
  • A minimum of two to five (2-5) years of relevant work experience in construction as an Estimator. Low-Rise wood frame construction background would be considered an asset.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook
  • On Screen Takeoff computer programming is an asset
  • Newstar ERP System
  • Knowledge of residential construction (single-family residential)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act
