- The strategic management of effective cleaning and grounds maintenance services working on behalf of the London Borough of Southwark.
- Responsible for the performance and continual development of the cleaning and grounds maintenance services in Southwark and improving customer satisfaction, both actual and perceived, by residents, tenants and all other stakeholders – making Southwark a great place to live.
- Developing a strong and effective working relationship with the Members, residents and the tenant movement as well as other interested groups in order to fulfil this purpose
- Knowledge of cleaning and grounds maintenance related issues, business practices and industry development.
- Knowledge of financial management issues and practice in local government.
- An understanding of management concepts and principles.
- Knowledge of existing and pending legislation, regulation and guidance within which local authority professional services are delivered including procurement, contraction and contract management
- Management including major change, human resources, staff group development, financial responsibility and systems development.
- Implementing and monitoring policies and initiatives.
- Business and service planning
- Strategic planning and decision making.
- Developing and implementing quality initiatives and quality assured services.
- Five years within local government in a senior position.
- Negotiating contracts.
- Managing procurement exercise.
- Designing contract management systems
- Track record of high performance at a senior position
