POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Assistant R&D Manager, the incumbent is assist to coordinate with Sales & Marketing, Production team to work in new product development, recipes and cost optimization, in order to developing ways to enhance existing products portfolio according to the market and customer’s preferences.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESNew Product Development
  • Develop ways to improve or enhance consumables, develop new product and create new flavors of products based on market needs and customer’s preferences
  • Monitoring (chemical compositions) consistency and compositional parameters that may lead to changes in products and manufacturing.
  • Prepare benchtop samples and oversee trials for new formulations.
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing, Production team, Consulting Company, Research Organization and Customers to study the market trends, develop new product based on marketing intelligences and data analytic to gain a vision of what the customers want.
  • Improving manufacturing processes and techniques after analyzing results of research and conduct testing products for flavor and nutrition and evaluating suitability for development and sale.
Technical Support
  • Extend beyond improving the flavor, taste, or nutritional value of our products, improve how a product is packaged, shipped, or stored.
  • Provide technical support on production issues, including processing procedures, preparation of ingredients and packaging processes to ensure the final products are safe and meet the required quality
  • Developing quality control and assurance procedures to ensure the safety, functionality, and style of the products that are produced.
  • Tackle problems encountered during processing and ingredients selection
  • Act as a member in HACCP and food safety committee, prepare ISO documents related to R&D session.
  • Provide support on material substitution / alteration for company’s benefits.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 3 years' relevant experience in Food Science and or Product Development
  • Prior experience in FMCG/ manufacturing and retail environment is preferable.
  • Degree in Food Science and Technology/ Food and Nutrition Sciences or related discipline
  • Excellent spoken & written English
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptionally analytical and strategic minded, combining excellent communications skills and the ability to serve as an effective project champion to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Chinese Word Processing and Data Processing
  • Self-confident, pragmatic and proactive
  • Good Project management skills
