- Receive and inspect raw materials
- Verify each load for yardage, mix, added products and all other quality information
- Coordinate all required added products are present prior to batching
- Ensure daily moistures are completed, logged, and entered into the batching system
- Monitor and maintain inventories in the plant (cement, fly ash, admixtures and aggregates)
- Adjust batch weights and quantities as necessary to maintain specifications
- Coordinate with QC and QC tech to minimize lost loads and dry-up loads
- Interview and hire new employees (Loader Operator & Yard Hand, if applicable)
- Responsible for ensuring new employees receive training and assessment
- Ensures all necessary documents and testing required by employees is completed
- Monitors compliance of the Code of Conduct Manual by all employees
- Responsible for coordinating Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) with guidance from the Area Manager
- Responsible for administering disciplinary action within guidance from Area Manager
- Completes annual performance objectives and accountabilities for all employees
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure plant is in good working condition through Pre-Trip walks to prevent downtime
- Perform routine maintenance and oversee the cleaning of the concrete plant
- Keep required records and logs
- Determines if any hazards exist. Communicate and coordinate remedial plan to remove hazard
- Reports all equipment problems to the maintenance personnel as soon as possible
- Coordinate monthly property supply order for employee spaces
- Manage and report monthly inventory by entering/receiving raw materials into Command and filling out Inventory count sheets to true up Oracle.
- Ensures all communications to administration is done accurately and timely
- Maintains proper records for employees. Ensures all disciplinary actions are properly recorded and filed with HR
- Maintains and develops computer skills necessary for efficient use of time
- Ensures all timekeeping is completed accurately and approved
- Organizes employees as necessary for vacation time
- Ensure that all necessary equipment and PPE is available to the employees and properly used
- Weekly Safety Observations of employees to promote excellent safety practices and correct potentially hazardous practices
- Ensures employees participate in all current training and safety programs
- Helps when necessary, other areas of the Ready Mix Division
- Contribute to positive employee morale
- High School Graduate / GED or equivalent experience from within the Ready-Mix Concrete industry
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License
- Preferred 3-5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Basic computer skills

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly sits for long periods of time, stands, walks, types, and occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
