- Applicants are required to have a safety background in construction at an Advisor level.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
- Support the Service Delivery Team in HSE matters and provide advice to enhance safety and environmental management.
- Engage with all levels of personnel to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Perform regular HSE inspections and monitor workplace practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate site accidents and incidents, supporting the management of worker's compensation claims and rehabilitation processes.
- Provide operational assistance to the Service Delivery Team, ensuring adherence to HSE systems and procedures.
- Cultivate professional relationships with regulatory bodies and clients, and produce reports on safety, health, and environmental matters.
- Monitor workplace compliance with HSE systems and procedures, offering operational support to the Project Delivery Team.
- Ensure clear communication and adherence to site access procedures.
- Assist the Site Manager in developing and facilitating weekly toolbox talks.
- Develop internal SWMS as necessary.
- Ensure no tasks commence without a SWMS in place.
- Review SWMS (or verify review has occurred) before commencing activities.
- Conduct subcontractor SWMS Field Verification Audits.
- Perform weekly HS&E Audits and Electrical Inspections.
- Monitor compliance with safe work and environmental practices and procedures on-site.
- Ensure all elements outlined in the Construction Risk Assessment are incorporated into the project SWMS.
- Establish and monitor all aspects of the WHS Management Plan.
- Implement and monitor control measures detailed in the Construction Risk Assessment.
- Ensure compliance with site induction training requirements.
- Monitor the implementation of the WHS management plan.
- Maintain relevant legislation, standards, and guidance publications on-site.
- Complete the Site Diary daily, documented in Hammertech.
- Conduct and record daily WHS inspections in Hammertech.
- Conduct weekly HS&E Audits, including assessments of signage and environmental controls.
- Identify and report potential WHS and environmental impacts and risks to the Project Manager and Head of HSEQ.
- Compile weekly written reports detailing any lost time accidents and proposed prevention measures.
- minimum Advanced Diploma in WHS or equivalent
- Cert IV in WHS
- Cert IV in Environmental Management desirable
- 5 years experience in construction
