One Family.PURPOSE STATEMENTThe Regional Sales Manager - will be accountable for the execution of the Happy Orchard Re-packing strategic plans through ongoing growth and development of partnerships with new/existing manufacturers and brands across various segments. To deliver that, you will develop a clear understanding of Happy Orchard's re-packing capabilities and available capacities to set strategies that are aligned with the overall business and customer acquisition objectives. You will be accountable for maximizing our sales and profits by driving additional synergies within our operations and distribution network with your customer base.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMESNew Business Development:
  • The main responsibilities include selling re-packing services and line time to outside manufacturing partners
  • Identify customers whose brands growth plans would benefit from our re-packing capabilities and available plant capacity
  • Develop a 'hit list' of potential customers and segments that meet those needs. Develop customer outline or “profile” that captures critical requirements to aid in the future growth enablement and investments needs
  • Suggest new solutions to meet the extraordinary re-packing needs of outside manufacturers
  • Serve as primary customer contact for technical and business issues related to new and existing customers
  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Research sources for developing prospective customers and gather critical information to help determine their potential.
  • Communicate and coordinate sales activities with plant operation, supply chain, R&D, QA, finance and logistics as required.
  • Interface with all appropriate internal functions to work through the on-boarding process for new customers or new items for existing customers.
Analytics:
  • Provide forecasting validation to our internal demand planning functions and provide feedback to customers as required.
  • Utilize CRM and other sales tracking tools for leads and sales progress
  • Provide ongoing analysis regarding customer performance to prior year, to plan and to current forecast
  • Analyze historical and current shipment data and develop strategies to improve business planning.
  • Review Key Performance Indicators and provide feedback or corrective action recommendations as required.
  • Take a lead role in the budgeting and forecasting processes, including various monthly, quarterly and annual analysis.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales management or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years progressive sales experience working directly in the co-packing, co-manufacturing or repacking industries. (meal kit desired)
  • A strong awareness and applicable understanding of supply chain and manufacturing operation
  • A hunter with strong history of successful prospecting, lead generation and securing new business
  • Must demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and be results oriented.
  • Be able to work independently and within a team environment possessing excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Curiosity - Possess the ability to analyze and understand financial information around costing, operations, P&L modeling and forecasting.
  • Strong computer knowledge and SAP strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel for in person visits with customers, attend trade shows and for team meetings as required. Travel requirements will average 25% - 40% of the time.
