Veterinary Assistant

• Handle and restrain animals during procedures to ensure their safety and the safety of the veterinary team.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and instruments.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
• Provide basic care to animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic, including cleaning and disinfecting cages and kennels.
• Assist with laboratory procedures, such as collecting and preparing samples for testing.
• Assist with radiology procedures, including positioning animals and developing X-rays.
• Record and maintain accurate medical records for each animal.
• Provide support and assistance to pet owners, including answering questions and providing education on animal care.

• Excellent knowledge of animal care and basic veterinary procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with pet owners and the veterinary team.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and calmly.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as bags of pet food or animals.
• Experience with handling and caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals.
