- Exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales for hotel rooms and food and beverage targets
- Implementing and executing strategic plans
- Building and maintaining good customer relationships
- Communicating effectively among clients, hotel managers, the sales team and corporate office.
- Experience working with large group arrivals, departures and requests.
- Creating reports, tracking sales numbers, budgeting and on sales performance
- Act as Manager on Duty
- Experience as a Sales Director in a hotel is a plus
- Previous hotel experience in positions as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, preparation of business plans, budget, forecasting, services, long range planning and the Indianapolis hotel market.
- Proven ability to maximize sales, and finding new business
- Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
- Great listening, negotiation, organizational and presentation skills
- Ability to teach, train and develop sales team
