Minimum RequirementsAppropriate Trade Test Certificate (Diesel Mechanic); A valid driving license (Code EC or higher).
RecommendationWorking experience maintaining diesel vehicles including earthmoving machines.
Key Performance AreasMaintain, repair, rebuild and modify all vehicles, construction plant and equipment to standard; Supervise Trade Worker Aid and Apprentice; Maintain occupational Health and Safety standards; Technical skills such as analysing, legal compliance and computer aid applications; Perform administrative duties which include complete log forms and timesheets, initiate orders and writing reports.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Mechanical work on construction plant and equipment and vehicle (test); Maintain good interpersonal relations; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Verbal and written communication skills; Good planning and problem solving skills; Good time management skills.
RemunerationGrade A: R 230 898 - R 256 263 per annum, Grade B: R 270 915 - R 300 675 per annum, Grade C: R 314 751 - R 386 775 per annum (Salary will be determined as per OSD prescripts).Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD) are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
