Job Description:Job DescriptionThe Marketing, Student Recruitment, Admissions and Communications Group is at the heart of attracting, engaging and delivering exceptional student and stakeholder experiences. From award-winning marketing campaigns to local and global student recruitment initiatives, and communications that put Heriot-Watt on the global stage, our Group delivers professional services that support the University's strategic ambitions.This role in Malaysia will report to the Lead Designer. You will be responsible for end-to-end production of videos and photo content, working closely with other marketing team members, to support key student recruitment, and reputation, as well as marketing campaigns, events, online presence, social media, brand campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities in areas such as Communications, Alumni & Development, Research and Enterprise and Office of The Principal. Your role is to assist the Lead Designer in managing creative requirements for the Malaysia campus in addition to supporting and aligning with creative requirements globally, including championing preproduction work from ideas and storyboards to prioritising work while ensuring brand requirements are being adhered to effectively.Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Production Lead: Using your creative judgement and communication skills to maximise department's creative output and deliver first-class work; reviewing briefs and setting the creative direction for projects where necessary, with direction from the Lead Designer, while adhering to the brand guidelines.
  • Traffic & Workflow Management: Maintain high levels of production and traffic management to ensure internal client briefs are processed to agreed timescales and budgets, prioritising and reallocating tasks as necessary.
  • Material Resources & Quality: Ensuring top-notch specifications applied throughout production with end result in mind, while building a library of materials. This includes sourcing for relevant materials and keeping the team updated on current trends including industry content.
  • Digital-First: Adopting a digital-first approach to projects and constantly improving the creative output to ensure innovative digital solutions are adopted in stakeholders' briefs.
  • Reporting: Providing regular monthly reporting on process efficiency in project delivery and cost management on top of continuous feedback on end result.

  • Relevant education and practical experience of minimum 8 years in the workplace
Desirable:
  • Multimedia or production studio/agency background
ExperienceEssential:
  • Proven experience managing and producing for multiple projects successfully for internal or external clients
  • Passion for brand building translating ideas into visual stories, championing delivery within deadlines
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of graphic design
Competencies, Skills & KnowledgeEssential:
  • Proficiency with proven portfolio not just in technical skills of various equipment not limited to cameras, but also in editing and animation
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise a busy workload, keep to externally and internally imposed deadlines, multitask in a busy office.
  • Flexibility and stamina due to working hours especially during events
