Seven Resourcing are looking for a Housing Support Worker to work in Halifax. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying between £13.61ph PAYE. This role is full time Monday to Friday 9am-5pmThe role:MUST DRIVE AND HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLESupport new refugees to settle in Calderdale, providing support in their accommodation, apply for benefits, secure health, education and other services and integrate into their local communities.Key Responsibilities:Support households assisted by the Migration Services Team and help them to link in with services provided by partner agencies.Ensure that properties being used to accommodate new arrivals are suitable and properly furnished and have completed necessary checks required. Support households to sustain their homesComplete checks and respond to enquiries regarding the Homes for Ukraine scheme.Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up to date records and to provide statistics and data as required.Advise and assist clients to obtain appropriate benefit payments, health care and all other services to which they are entitled.Assist new arrivals to become familiar with the local area and its facilities and integrate into local communities.Decide for children to enter local schools, colleges and nurseries and as a link between parents and the schools.Identify the practical and support needs of the households concerned, develop detailed support plans and provide structured support to achieve the plan objectives and outcomes.Accompany household members to initial appointments.Help ensure that households comply with the requirements of the UK Benefit system and do not avoidably suffer sanctions.Assist clients to achieve their aspirations and take advantage of the opportunities available to them.Applicant Requirements :Experience: 2 years' experience in a similar role.Compliance: 3 years references.Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.Hours: 37 hours p/w.Working with Seven Social Care:We have been helping social care professionals find exciting new roles for almost a decade, so we know exactly where to look when it comes to sourcing the best opportunities.
