- Lead the development of consistent design, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of Network Tools and Services across Global Network Services.
- Evaluation of new tools and services to ensure the organization is using the best technologies to meet strategic goals.
- Establish and maintain regular communications with peers, Architects, Engineering, deployment as well as operations teams, supplier management and vendors regarding requisite network infrastructure changes and improvement opportunities.
- Provide deep technical leadership and mentorship on Network Tools and Services strategies, including maturation of existing technologies, new tools and services development, and integrations.
- Consult with peer organizations and management on standard methodologies for the process and procedures to deploy & support Network Tools at scale. This includes following SDLC procedures and TQ processes while also providing training, support, documentation and all users.
- Collaborate with engineering team to drive supportable solution development. Provide knowledge transfer sessions with peer organizations and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation and frameworks.
- Leads the development of a release management plan for platform hardware platforms by using tools which can be coordinated by automation/orchestration platforms.
- ITIL Framework (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
- Bachelor's degree or related experience required.
- 6+ years of Enterprise Network experience with a highly available global network infrastructure.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Network Management, Performance, and Monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, Cisco DNA Center, ThousandEyes, Syslog-ng, and Netscout.
- Desirable experience in implementing and running observability platforms and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and architectures, including TCP/IP, VPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and SD-WAN.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and customization of network tools.
- Experience with network management protocols and features, i.e SNMP, Netflow, sFlow, cFlowd, Packet Analysis.
- Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) solutions.
- Demonstrable understanding of DevOps principles, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts.
- Knowledge of Git-based Version Control Systems (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.), JIRA.
- Experience with APIs/RestAPI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, data-driven problem solver.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience communicating highly conceptual designs to executives, mid-level management, and peer engineers.
