One of our prestigious clients is looking to hire a Marine Assets Maintenance Manager to be based in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, In the Maritime industry, who will be responsible for but not limited to:Job OverviewThe Marine Asset Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance of key marine assets, including dry three docks, load out barge, ship lift, fast rescue boats, navigational buoys, fendering systems and pontoons.The Manager is accountable for effectively managing the maintenance budget, allocating resources, and coordinating with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and equipment. He She oversees a team of maintenance technicians and professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and training to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.The Manager's key purpose is to optimize maintenance processes, minimize downtime, and maximize productivity. The manager is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to prevent equipment failures, reduce disruptions, and enhance asset utilization.Key Responsibilites
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies and programs specifically tailored to all marine assets including dry docks, load out barges, ship lift, fast rescue boats, navigational buoys, fendering systems and pontoons.
  • Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting and allocating resources effectively to meet maintenance needs.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Asset Management System as per ISO 55001:2014, AM Policy and SAMP.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
  • Perform Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Program as planned and ensure zero overdues.
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, engineers and professionals providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure timely and high-quality work.
  • Lead the team to manage safely, timely and cost effectively all the marine asset maintenance activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with Marine Operation Departments to understand their maintenance needs and coordinate resources accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend changes to asset management plans including preventive maintenance checklists and frequencies according to the assets failures modes, main time between failures and historical reliability data.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the availability of necessary maintenance materials, tools, and spare parts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, such as equipment uptime, mean time between failures (MTBF), and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain timely and cost effectively all the company security and fire assets and systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of annual compliance reports, contracts, and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in marine asset maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance records, documentation, and reports to track maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes specific to marine asset maintenance to propose and implement innovative solutions.
  • Ensure all marine assets critical failures are investigated to identify the underlying causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Work closely with HSEQ Department for potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment for all employees.
  • As per ISO55001, review and approve business case studies including risks and decision-making matrix for acquisition of new assets.
  • Review and recommend adjustment to the outsourcing strategies.
  • Implement the asset management competency guideline and report compliance to Asset Maintenance Manager.
  • Review and approve the manpower Training Needs Analysis and Individual Developmental Plans.
  • Manage staff, including allocation of duties, competency training, performance evaluation and leave roster and absence.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department, promoting employee engagement and development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 15+ years of practical experience in Asset Management and maintenance management.
  • Including at least (5) years of people management experience.
  • IFS practical experience is a plus
  • The IAM AM Principles or CAMA certificate is a plus.
  • ISO31000 Lead Certificate is a plus.

  • Leadership, Ability to effectively communicate strategic direction through sound logical, commercial, and technical reasoning, with all functional areas in the organization. Promote a can-do team spirit creating a culture of high standards, work ethic and job satisfaction within the department.
  • Business Acumen, experienced in developing, implementing, and sustaining new business directions/functions with appropriate commercial and technical acumen.
  • knowledge of NEBOSH and/or OSHA standards and practices.
  • Excellent Computer Skills.

  • Team working, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior.
