- Serves as the engineering project leader for programs developing Avionics products, including coordination of hardware, software, and firmware scope to meet program commitments.
- Serves as engineering project leader, supplying project management and technical direction during all program phases including pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment.
- Ensures consistency with Collins Aerospace technical consistent engineering processes.
- Ensures compliance with program and product requirements as reflected in design plans.
- Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced engineers.
- Demonstrates technical ability in processing platforms and the associated technologies.
- Maintains awareness of key technologies and the company's competitive position
- Supports development and transition of products into a manufacturing environment.
- Supports employment of cost reduction strategies to maximize DTC+ impacts on products.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

- Demonstrated ability to lead large development teams with diverse skillsets and interdependencies between functional groups.
- Successful leadership experience in developing ruggedized avionics products.
- Experience managing technical projects including schedule and earned value management, risk management, customer interaction, and briefing executive leadership.
- Experience with Avionics regulatory and certification requirements: TSO, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, DO-297, APR4754A
- Demonstrated success in balancing system performance and affordability.
- Strong communicator, able to work with the spectrum of individual contributors to executive leadership.
