shareholders and maintain Sompo International as a desirable place to work.We are seeking an Underwriter to join our International Casualty team in our London, UK office.Responsibilities include:
  • Underwriting - developing a profitable Casualty portfolio of diversified International clients.
Underwrite all accounts in accordance with underwriting guidelines and individual authority
statement.
  • Wording skills - strong understanding of Casualty products and endorsements.
  • Administration - file keeping and organisation of client accounts
  • Reporting - data analysis and regular review of portfolio
  • Production - ability to work with key broker houses and develop books of business.
  • Travel where necessary, both national and international
  • Service - timely response to brokers
  • Monitors all industry and specific account trends through reading of the national and
international press as well as a insurance sector publications.Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Proven Underwriting experience, minimum of 10 years
  • Prior experience underwriting an International portfolio of clients
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team oriented approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Logical thinking
  • Strong time management
  • Strong administration skills / file keeping
  • Ability to organise efficiently
  • Competent computer skills - must include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft
