A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.About the OpportunityThis civilian role delivers Collins Class Submarine engineering systems maintainer and operator training at the Royal Australian Navy's world-class training facility on HMAS Stirling, Garden Island.Subjects may include submarine general, auxiliary systems, propulsion, weapon systems and platform operator courses depending on the skills, experience and aptitude of the successful candidate.You will teach classroom, practical and simulator classes using a range of specialist equipment before assessing students' performance. You will also contribute to training development and the introduction of new capability onto the submarine. This is an opportunity for you to share your marine system technical expertise and use the latest learning technologies to meet our students' and clients' requirements for high quality training.Responsibilities
  • Training delivery in classroom, practical, simulated and blended learning environments.
  • Competency assessment of students.
  • Assist with training development and instructional design.
  • Update and maintain own knowledge and skills currency.
  • Provide input into configuration changes and impact assessments.
About you
  • Knowledge of submarine or surface ship marine engineering systems and equipment.
  • Cert III in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or within 12 months of start).
  • Role model with confident presentation and communication skills.
EligibilityThis role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
