If so, then climb aboard and join us as we chart a course towards excellence in web content management.JOB SUMMARY:Under general direction, sets strategic direction for IRSC.edu and its microsites. Ensures the website functions as an effective tool in Indian River State College's overall communications strategy through publishing oversight and brand- and writing-style stewardship. Works to maximize the effectiveness of internet technologies.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Sets strategic direction for IRSC.edu and its microsites, including communications priorities, brand and style, and voice and tone. (10%)Manages the Web Content Community and maintains regular communication with content editors and publishers about updates to policy or process, system maintenance, or other relevant change management matters and keeps the group engaged with changes to strategy, standards, and expectations. (10%)Regularly offers web content training sessions for Indian River State College content publishers and editors, and maintains up-to-date, easily accessible web publishing documentation. (15%)Convenes regular editorial meetings to facilitate collaboration, content planning, and editorial decision-making, and establishes editorial calendars to track and manage content, coordinate high-level website publishing, and facilitate collaboration. (15%)Addresses non-compliance issues through guidance, consulting, and if necessary, revocation of access or reassignment to training. (5%)Uses analytics, usability, best practices, user (end-user and author) feedback, and institutional priorities to make informed decisions about content and publishing process, and creates and/or removes pages, as guided by overall strategy, institutional needs, or input from Content Editors. (10%)Revises or removes content on College websites or microsites that violate the web management policy, content guidelines and standards, or school guidelines around acceptable use and copyright. (10%)Establishes and upholds style guidelines, publishing standards and processes, web management policies, content templates, and adherence to best practice to ensure site integrity and consistently high-quality content, and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of these guidelines, standards, policies, and processes, making adjustments if needed. (15%)Consults and communicates with Administration about proposed major site changes (structure, substance, process, or policy), ongoing or challenging compliance issues, and overall site web management. (5%)Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. (5%)QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of related experience.A solid understanding of content management principles and strategies for effectively organizing, categorizing, and publishing content within the Drupal CMS environment.Proficiency in Drupal CMS, including content creation, editing, and publishing workflows, as well as familiarity with content types, taxonomies, and permissions management.Excellent writing and editing abilities to create high-quality, engaging content that aligns with the organization's brand voice, messaging, and objectives.Experience with web design principles, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) design for creating visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly websites using Drupal.Knowledge of and experience with principles and techniques that optimize content for search engines (SEO) and AI aggregation (OpenAI, etc.) to improve rankings and drive organic traffic to the College website and microsites.Proficiency in utilizing web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Drupal-specific analytics modules to track content performance, analyze user engagement metrics, and make data-driven decisions to enhance content effectiveness.Effective project management skills to coordinate projects; manage timelines, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
