- You will carry out Daily Pre-Journey Inspection to ensure Truck is maintained and presented in a roadworthy condition at all times, advising supervisor of any defects requiring immediate action
- Comply with all Elgas policies and procedures as well as procedures for the safe handling of LPG when delivering and loading through demonstration of full (Linde Delivery) DEL compliance
- Further you will ensure truck is loaded and unloaded at beginning and end of daily shifts as required
- Deliver to customer installations, connecting cylinders via installation pigtails ensuring all connections are thoroughly leak tested to ensure after first assessing that the customer installation and site access are compliant and safe to deliver LPG cylinders into
- Correct loading of LPG cylinder in accordance with Load Restraint Guidelines is required in this role, and to ensure that all cylinder barcodes are scanned into the handheld for all deliveries and/or cylinder collections. •Comply with all national legislative requirements for Driving Hours, Logbook Compliance, and fatigue management requirements
- You must be safety conscious and abide by all regulations associated with the position and be proactive with safety - in the event of an accident/incident or near miss, correct reporting and follow up procedures are to be adhered to
- Additionally you will maintain a professional and courteous manner to Elgas staff and customers and report potential new customers and or customer requirements to sales representative / management
- Report to transport supervisor any missed deliveries and sequencing or routing abnormalities
- You will complete work as directed - including weekend work at peak times when required
- All paperwork and hand held computer processing to be completed accurately and in a timely manne
- Complete end of day route status including missed deliveries and scheduling issues to be reported on conclusion of daily route
- Class 2 Drivers License with clean driving record.- Minimum Three years' relevant driver experience of licence class
- Dangerous Goods License and LPG Handlers certification
- Other licenses etc. as required for specific role
- Ability in handling, rolling, pivoting, transporting LPG cylinders safely either by hand or with a hand truck.
- You will connect and leak test LPG cylinders to ensure customer gas supply is maintained
- Identify unsafe installations and report back to Manager / Supervisor
- Medically fit, able to access and egress vehicle cabin 20-30 times per shift (peak periods) and deemed fit per pre-employment medical including Drug & Alcohol test - negative result •Understanding and knowledge of Elgas Drivers Manual
- You have the ability to use current technology and accurate completion of manifests, end of day processes etc
- Completion of pre-trip vehicle inspections and management of truck presentation is required in this role, and th completion of all training as required
- Sufficient numerical, written and verbal literacy to perform role
