- Overseeing transport operations, leading a team comprising drivers and office staff, with the aim of achieving a 100% service level adherence to the transport plan.
- Facilitating communication within the transport team as well as with internal and external suppliers/business partners.
- Ensuring a smooth transition between shifts by preparing comprehensive written handovers for the following shift supervisor.
- Receiving, planning, and allocating work for the upcoming days.
- Assigning vehicles to meet delivery requirements for network activities and updating relevant parties accordingly.
- Monitoring site operations closely to ensure consistent loading of trailers within specified timeframes.
- Promoting consistent load security through effective driver engagement and fostering relationships with warehouse counterparts.
- Assisting in resolving operational defects promptly during shifts, with immediate escalation if necessary.
- Handling driver dispatch and debrief processes.
- Manage costs to meet or exceed budgeted plans and devise initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with legal regulations such as O Licence requirements and driver tachograph regulations.
- Managing disciplinary actions and absenteeism amongst staff.
- Implementing and overseeing Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and Risk Assessments (RA).
- Monitoring and addressing near misses and actively manage safe behaviours through the implementation of corrective actions
- Managing the Telematics system, providing driver engagement mentoring and monitoring to achieve required driving standards.
- Processing weekly wages for staff.
- Managing driver hours on a weekly, fortnightly, and reference period basis, ensuring compliance with European Working Time Directive (WTD) and drivers’ hours regulations
- Minimum 1+year proven transport supervisory management experience in a fast-paced, service-orientated logistics environment.
- Excellent knowledge of drivers domestic and European drivers’ regulations
- Excellent knowledge of current SOP’s, Risk assessments and safety reporting processes. Excellent knowledge of Transport systems (Microlise + Kronos systems and Microsoft Office or similar).
- Proven experience in implementing and monitoring Driver regulations.
- Experience in Transport systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work on your own and closely with Team members
