We are CNN.To see what it’s like to work at CNN, follow @WBDLife on and !Your New Role...The Producer for Isa Soares Tonight is responsible for outputting a daily, hour-long news show with anchor and correspondent Isa Soares. The Producer provides editorial guidance to a team of writers based in London and Atlanta and is responsible for taking the show to air. They determine the rundown, react to breaking news, and are in the control room as programmes go to air.Isa Soares Tonight airs weeknights at 7pm GMT so core working hours for this role will be 12pm-8pm Mon-Fri, with some flexibility required. This role is offered on a maternity cover contract for approximately 1 year.Your Role Accountabilities...Responsible for all aspects of the show, taking the programme to air from the control room.Determine which stories will be included in the show and how those stories will be presented.In the run-up to the show, ensures all scripts are written, all graphics have been ordered and completed and all video material is in place and ready to air.Coordinate the efforts of the writers and Production Assistants who assist in the programme production.Knowledge of and understanding of all daily stories and what treatments the stories deserve for the show. Interacting with the assignment desk, supervisors and the show team to determine just how CNNI will be covering and presenting stories each day and building a 'rundown' to guide the programmeWrite some elements of the show, most often the show open, teases and set-ups for special segments;Execute the rundown, oversee the control room staff, manage the running order adapting to breaking news or technical problems.Lead post-mortem with Copy Editors, Supervisors and the show team to discuss how the show went on air. Provide feedback to guest booking team on show guests and give ideas and some guidance on guests requested for future shows.Contribute to the digital strategy of the show and come up with ideas for coverage storytelling on-air and online.Qualifications and Experience...Substantial experience in broadcast journalism in a similar news environmentExceptional editorial judgementThorough knowledge of international news and regional affairsProven live control room experience outputting newscasts, good knowledge of television productionAbility to make fast, tough decisions, work under pressure and make rapid changes to the rundownHow We Get Things Done…This last bit is probably the most important!
