- First and foremost, you’ll be responsible for ensuring maximum vehicle availability for our customers throughout the Midlands.
- On arrival at our customer’s site, you’ll work quickly and diligently to diagnose problems, completing repairs in a health and safety conscious manner.
- This will be a combination of reactive and preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on the whole vehicle.
- Once you’ve finished working on the vehicles, you’ll need to complete paperwork (such as service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims), ensuring that jobs can be closed and invoiced in a timely manner. This includes uploading information to systems and occasionally writing technical reports.
- You’ll be given a van and it’s your responsibility to make sure that it is fully equipped with tools and parts on daily basis.
- It’s a 37-hour week, with hours of operation typically between 05:00-20:00. Your exact hours will be communicated to you by your line manager on a regular basis.
- You’ll get to work on and learn about various vehicle drivelines, including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, diesel and diesel hybrid.
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of buses or heavy goods vehicles, including body, electrical, and mechanical.
- Working on modern, high-tech vehicles, it would be great if you have electrical diagnostic skills, ideally using Multiplex systems.
- Mechanically you’ll be comfortable with diagnosing and repairing of engines and transmission issues, as well as compressed air systems as a minimum.
- Time served PCV/LGV Technician with a recognised qualification such as City and Guilds, BTEC or similar, or equivalent experience.
- Required to be dependable, punctual, and reliable with a customer focused mindset, focusing on quality and accuracy, with completion at the highest of standards.
- Excellent self-organising and planning skills are key, and a professional manner at all times.
- A degree of flexibility is required and where additional hours are worked, overtime payment will be applied.
- Computer literate and able to use Microsoft packages.
- A Full UK Driving License
